Abatement Desk

Privacy

In effect 6 October 2026.

This says what Abatement Desk collects, why it collects it, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted. It covers this website and the Abatement Desk product, both of which are operated by Switchyard Software Company.

The short version

We collect the least we can. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. If you want it gone, email us and it is gone.

If you join the waitlist

The form on the front page stores three things: the email address you type, the state you pick under "where you file", and the date and time you submitted it. We keep the state you pick because it tells us which jurisdiction to build next.

We use the address for one thing, which is to email you when the product opens. We are not going to add you to a newsletter.

If you have an account

An account holds what you would expect it to hold: the email addresses of the people at your firm who use it, your firm's name, the firms you add, the notifications and job records you create, the documents you upload, and a record of what changed and when.

Some of what you see in your account did not come from you. Asbestos notifications filed with the state are public record, and we read them from the state's published data so that your filings are there when you arrive. A firm's notifications appear in your account once the firm is added to it. Telling us a firm is yours is a separate step, and we check that against public business records.

Payment information

Card details are handled by Stripe and are never sent to us or stored by us. We keep the record of what plan you are on and what you have been billed, and Stripe keeps the payment instrument. Stripe's own privacy notice governs what they do with it.

The spam challenge

The waitlist form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which decides whether a submission came from a person. To do that it uses information about your browser and connection. Cloudflare describes what it collects in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Turnstile does not use your information to advertise to you.

How we count visits

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without following you between sites. It does not build a profile and we cannot use it to identify you.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, which is why you are not being asked to accept any. Cloudflare may set cookies for security reasons, such as identifying traffic it has already determined is not a bot. Signing in to the product sets a session cookie, because that is how staying signed in works.

Who else sees your information

Only the companies that make the product run, and only for that purpose:

We do not sell your information and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing. We will hand over information if the law actually requires it, and if we are allowed to tell you that it happened, we will.

How long we keep it

Waitlist addresses are kept until the launch email has gone out and then until you ask us to remove yours. Account information is kept while your account is open, and for a period after it closes so that billing and tax records hold together. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, except where we have to keep a record to satisfy the law.

What you can ask for

Email matt@abatementdesk.com and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, a correction to it, or its deletion. You do not need to give a reason and there is no form. Depending on where you live you may have these rights by law; we do not intend to make you cite one.

Who is responsible for it, and where it is held

Switchyard Software Company is responsible for the information described here. It is based in Pennsylvania, in the United States, and your information is processed there. The companies listed above operate globally, so information may be handled in other countries as part of running their services.

Children

This is a product for businesses. It is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If this page changes

The date at the top is when the current version took effect. If we change something that matters to you, and we have your email address, we will tell you rather than quietly swapping the page.
